General information:
In the early Middle Ages Lubin was a fishing settlement and a stronghold stood here. In1124 Christian Mission of St. Otto came and the first church was founded. In the end of the 18th century the 10th century Arabic coins were excavated here.
Lubin is a small town with population about 800 situated on the high east bank of Wicko Wielkie Lake. The place is principally concerned with cement production where (in the nearest Wapnica settlement) is a large factory, at chalkpits in the neighbourhood. The harbour serves fishing boats and yachts. There are concrete wharves and 5t crane of lifting capacity. In the summer there is a passenger ferry service connecting Lubin with Szczecin and Świnoujście.
